Wolfday and wikileaks day

happy wolf and wikileaks day.  wolf day because of the traditional roots of valentines day, and wikileaks day due to the extradition hearings for Assange that commenced today.

quick update regarding some shows that are coming up you should check out:

We also have a new album coming out pretty soon, and you can check out some tracks off of it, Set Faces to Stun, here!

With another CD in the works as well, some shows in Monteal/Toronto planned, and a potential quickly thrown together out-east tour,  we’re back in business baby.

Add us on facebook, and be sure to keep up to date on what we’re up to.

second long due update

http://nefidovs.bandcamp.com/album/set-faces-to-stun

Pavel Nefidov is a general director of the Bank & Finance Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States. You might also remember him as a topmanager of TOKO bank in Azerbaijan. His other dream was to be in a punk band.

Who are the Nefidovs? well, thats a very good question!
the story is a long one, and not for the faint of heart. it begins, many years ago…
emerging from a cold war experiment, the Nefidovs in their inception were to masquerade as a Soviet Folk Band touring Soviet cities, gathering relevant information, all the while never breaking character. the members were hand chosen by the Governor General at the time (Jules Léger. He was credited with greatly modernising the Office of the Governor General), and immediately were sent into training.
they underwent 4 years of musical training in all aspects. world music, jazz, blues, hip-hop (before its inception), boogie-woogie, salsa, swing, samba, tribal, classical…you name it.
following this was a 3 month cosmetic surgery procedure that quite literally changed them each into someone else. with new faces, new passports, and a briefcase full of cash, and their instruments, they were ready.
they airdropped into soviet territory and began their tour…

Moreover, we have a badass horn section featuring Nick Munk- Sax, Kirk Guthrie- Trombone, Jon Liedtke- Trumpet

We have a show: Saturday, Feb 5: doors at 9. Coach and Horses

long due update

We’ve gone through a bunch of changes over the past while.

We unfortunately need to announce the departure of Graham Kennish from the band, as Adam d’Andrea overtook him in the game that is drumming, and threw him from the stool.  The only way to join the Nefidovs is to unseat a member.

We’ve also had a switch up in our Mishbukah (Family), and Craig Munt and Richard Jennings have done a switchero. Rich is now our standard bassist, and Craig has taken a seat at the family table.

We released a NefiDemo’s album a month ago, featuring some new tracks, that we have been throwing  free copies of, at shows. So be sure to come out.  New tracks on NefiDemos can be found at our Bandcamp.

Here are some links to some stuff we’ve done: Absent Jackets, Alrighty Then [feat Ryan Frith), Broke Down Palace (Video Link!)

We were also played on CJAM, Revolution Rock, by our pal David Konstantino from the Hypnotics! Here is the link!

good ideas

sometimes the nefidovs come up with some pretty good ideas.

this is an example of just one of them

“listen you fdruck m other fucker, why should i have to write you a fucking email when im as drunk as you, woe is you eh? fuck you! anyway like i was trying to explain to your drunk as early, Stephen, Steven, Stephan, wetf his name, is harper is answering questions from americanians  via a pre-paid cell phone, in layman’s terms i guess i mean to say is hes actually answering Canadians questions via youtubith. so a) we make a video asking a question aboot some real hot topic like abortion or gays or pot or anexing quebec for good, so tons of canadians will vote for it becuz its a crazy out there questions. or b) ask a question related to the broBONING of parliment (which is what every dum fuck will ask, like our freind the leader and C&C of the young republicans). and both have a nefijom in the backround, every gerd derm canerdiern will be watching them all. and then not voting for ours, but singing those days.. fuck you this took me exactly like about 15 minutes to write. fuck you”

big NEWS!!!! and st. patty’s day show at hoageys

good morning to those of you who are actually reading this in the morning; to the rest of you, well, you should be more interested in the Nefidovs, and checking our website far more often.

the reason that we’re writing to you, the audience, today, is that of grave importance. something is terribly wrong in the state of denmark; figuratively of course.  the Denmark we are refering to today is not that of a forgotten and often illdescribed past, but rather, the state of affairs in this great city of windsor.

for years upon years, we have had injustices poured upon us, time and time again. oppression has been the name of the game for most, and quite frankly, a lot got good at the game. we can look back to the hey-days of windsor, electric street cars, a booming waterfront transportation hub, chrysler, gm, ford, and subsidary plants prouding above efficiency, a salt industry that helps feed a geographical circle that spreads from us in the middle (sodium-chloride epicentre central) outwards to 6 different states, 4 provinces, and the small off-coast Island, Nefidovaville.

but, there is good news. not all is bad. a glimmer of hope is availiable to those who are willing to accept it. no, we’re not offering religion, or statism, or communism, socialism, republicanism, idealism, but rather, a much smarter ‘ism’….logicism .

that all we’re saying. for those of you that read this much, well, your automatically indoctrinated, regardless of choice; you’ll recieve your brouchure and membership cards in the mail within the week.

also, keep in mind, we have a show at HOAGEY’S PUB on ST. PATTY’s DAY; March 17

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=329144417764&ref=mf ; click here, invite your friends.  come out, and be sure to drink lots of beer in celebration.

new songs uploaded: reading week 2010style [19 cigarettes ver. 2.0; baba'oriley, crimson, planes]

19 Cigarettes: ver. 1.0:

our good friend Jesse Fellows (ex-blurt, Shared Arms) wrote a pretty awesome song called 19 cigarettes, and we had the opportunity to record a demo of it a while ago [you can hear it here].

19 CigaReTtES Ver. 2.0

following that one, jesse spent a bunch of time working on the song, changing some stuff around, being a musical genius pretty much (as that is his profession), and the result is this.  so, take a listen..we think it sounds pretty swell

mad shout outs to Jesse Fellows
